The mission statement of The Navigators is "to advance the gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost." The Chicago Navigator Metro Mission is about living room size groups of friends planting the truth of Jesus where they live, work, study and play. It is about relational communities of ordinary men and women with uncommon spiritual passion who increasingly reflect the diversity of Chicago. These men and women are being coached to engage their world with the transforming power of the Gospel of Jesus and the kingdom of God. One of my roles as a leader in the Chicago Metro Mission is to serve as a shepherd and empower and equip these men and women to live out this calling in the marketplace, in neighborhoods, among 20-somethings, in urban areas and among major ethnic groups. Together, we envision a Gospel movement expanding into every corner and dimension of the city in all its ethnic and socioeconomic arenas. God has called me to move into the Albany Park neighborhood to join with other Navigators who are trusting God to see a movement of the gospel among the hearts of their friends and neighbors that will impact the nations of the world. Over 50% of this neighborhood is foreign born and over 40 languages are spoken in the neighborhood schools. I am trusting God to use my life there and continue to use me in the other cross-cultural discipling relationships He has given me with other women in the city. The verse God used to call me to serve as a full-time missionary with The Navigators is Ephesians 3:7: "I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God's grace given me through the working of His power."
